Camp Live-A-Dream / Christmas Elf Program

Camp Live-A-Dream (CLAD)

robtandianCamp Live-A-Dream is a camp sponsored by Ally’s House that allows young people who have ever been diagnosed with cancer to enjoy everything that makes summer and summer camp special. At Camp Live-A-Dream, we provide a normal, active, and safe camp experience where children can celebrate life through their cancer journey.

2014 marked a new chapter for Camp Live-A-Dream (CLAD). After 26 years as a program of the American Cancer Society, it has been adopted by Ally’s House. The two organizations continue to work together to transition CLAD safely and successfully, honoring its rich tradition and bright future!

Christmas Elf Program

150614_10151307062839693_176509121_nThe Christmas Elf program is an opportunity for supporters to be “elves” for our kids! A patient’s parent signs him or her up at OU Children’s Hospital, providing information about favorite colors, toys, themes, etc. and a volunteer elf shops for that child for holiday gifts. For an example, the Elf’s information might be, “Your patient is Sam, he’s 4 and he loves Ninja Turtles and his favorite color is green.”

The elf shops for the child (the guideline is $50 – $75) and delivers them to Ally’s House, and we deliver these to the patient. Usually the Elf receives a thank you from their child after the holidays.
